    Description

    Antique wrought Iron hook and a u- shaped fitting from a Cape Ann Fishing boat. Found in a Rockport MA estate, but could be from Gloucester, too.  The hook is 11 1/4" long, and the U is 10". Very rusted and pitted, maybe from a wreck. This would have been used on the crane to hoist the net and/or boxes of fish. I think this is old enough to have been used in the days of sail.
