    Description:
    Painted carved wooden mask of a tiger from Olinala, Guerrero, Mexico. Near contemporary from ca. 2000. Carved wood, covered with a layer of gesso, then painted. The ears and tongue, which appear to be of leather, are tacked into the wood. The exposed fangs are probably plastic. The whiskers and eyelashes are of broomstraw or some similar material.
